The offer to purchase, also known as a reservation form or letter of intent, is the first binding document between buyer and seller to avoid misunderstanding or future problems. We highly recommend that this document be drafted or reviewed by a real estate attorney.
Right after you have found the property of your choice, it is highly recommended to hire an experienced real estate lawyer. The real estate attorney is the person in charge of handling the whole transaction and performing all the verifications.
Due diligence is a process carried out in order to identify potential or existing problems. To carry out proper due diligence, an extensive verification of all the documents that prove ownership is necessary. It is highly recommended that this process is conducted by a real estate lawyer when buying a pre-construction or resale property.
The day of closing is when all documents relating to the title transfer are executed for the benefit of the buyers, and full payment of the sale price is made for the benefit of the sellers. The real estate lawyer must ensure that all conditions have been met and all necessary documents have been handed over.
The title transfer has to be initiated and filled by the acting real estate lawyer right after the closing. When the transfer of all property rights has been completed, the new owners will receive an original title deed in their names.

Confotur
Confotur is a tax incentives program established by law in the Dominican Republic to support developers and buyers interested in investing in tourism facilities and accommodations. Through Confotur, the first buyers of Confotur-eligible properties will be exonerated from the payment of property transfer taxes and up to 15 years of property tax exoneration, among considerable tax incentives in place for developers.
